The music was pounding so loudly it made Nayley feel that it was coming from inside her own head. She stood still, feeling ill at ease, while her friends already looked to the bar, the dance floor or the other people in the club. She hovered near Clara, clad in tight jeans and a red lacy vest top- and already looking in the direction of the bar. Without looking, Nayley could tell that Liam was standing there, and that soon they would be standing over there- with Nayley as a third wheel.
By contrast, Maeve was in her element- she'd taken a little white tablet supplied by Bruce already, and was now dancing with some leery men- of course nothing would happen despite their hopes, but they would probably buy something without thinking. She allowed the music to drown out her thoughts, losing herself in the pounding rhythm. She could her stuff sell later, plus anything Bruce couldn't. He had a knack for smooth-talking the shyer girls into buying, but his appeal wasn't as...obvious
